Abstract MDIFW uses a standardized electrofishing protocol to sample a series of stream sites across Maine.  Since 1993, all fish captured are identified and counted (at least in the first electrofishing run at each site-date; see below).  Prior to this year, species lists often focused on target (gamefish) species and did not always record the entire assemblage.  Similarly, second and third electrofishing runs may focus on target species, and not the entire assemblage.  MDIFW uses the data to calculate species densities.  However, abundance data presented in this PEARL table are the numbers of individuals collected.
