Abstract

ASC staff operates traps to monitor adult Atlantic salmon returns on the Penobscot, Narraguagus, Pleasant, and Dennys Rivers.  Great Lakes Hydro, America operates a trap in the upper Penobscot drainage, Pennsylvania Power and Light operates one on the Union River, Florida Power and Light operates traps and lifts on the Saco River, DMR operates one on the Androscoggin River, and the St. Croix Waterway Commission operates one on the St. Croix.  Traps typically operate from May to November and are tended at least once daily.  Data for daily catches at selected traps are summarized by species for periods of one week.  This PEARL table contains ASC data from the Dennys, Narraguagus and Penobscot Rivers.  Note that the Penobscot data are from the Veazie trap and extend back to 1978.  Earlier data from the Bangor-Brewer trap on the Penobscot are currently being computerized by ASC and will be available on PEARL when provided by ASC.
